Takeover of Wyeth by Pfizer for $68 billion
I was just reading this article about the takeover of Wyeth by Pfizer for $68 billion and caught this really disturbing paragraph:
“The deal, the industry’s largest since Glaxo Wellcome paid $76 billion for SmithKline Beecham in 2000, comes as major players in the pharmaceutical industry struggle to find new products to keep their revenue stream flush against an increasing wave of generic rivals.”
Is it just me or is there something incredibly sinister about this observation. The bottom line here is that these drug companies are supposedly in the business of helping people…right?
WRONG! These drug companies are in the business of being in business…making money and they they have no interest in helping people. The truth of the matter is that they are constantly searching for “new” products to make that money. And they have no qualms about “creating” illnesses for which they miraculously just happen to have a drug available…yeah, right.
Time and time again they are exposed as having used dubious methods of testing on dubiously created illnesses yet we sit by and let it happen.
These guys are slimebags feeding on human misery and the sooner people wake up to that fact the better.
